What a joy to serve as the pastor at Hickory Grove
Baptist Church! It is such an honor to be a part of such a friendly,
loving church family!
I am a native of Georgia, having been born and raised
in Waycross/Ware County, home of the Okefenokee Swamp (second to the
Everglades in size and scope). I am a 1975 graduate of
Georgia Southern University
with a B.S. degree in Public Recreation, and a 1980 graduate of
Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree.
I am madly in love with Lucy, my wife of 35 years. She
is also a graduate of Georgia Southern University, and she earned her
Master's degree from the University of South Carolina. We have two
children: Chris, our son, who is married to Lindsay, and they have
blessed us with our first grandchild--Ellie Jane--who was born on
March 3rd of this year; and Stephanie, our daughter, who lives and
works in Myrtle Beach.
It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I serve
my Lord and Savoir, Jesus Christ, in such a wonderful church! It is my
prayer that, under God's Leadership, we can see the harvest of many
souls in His Kingdom right here in this community!

We began attending Hickory Grove Baptist Church in the
summer of 2007, and it was during VBS that I gave my heart to Jesus. I
am very excited to begin the Lord's work here at Hickory Grove CDC and
to spread the message of Jesus Christ to our children!
Administrative Assistant: Yvonne Benton
As a graduate of Conway High School and later Horry-Georgetown Tech, my career was in financial services in the medical field for thirty years. Twenty one of those years were at Conway Hospital, now Conway Medical Center. I moved to Union, SC, for six years; then back to my home here in Hickory Grove Community where I am enjoying my retirement. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband, Carroll; two sons, Darren and Roy, four grandchildren and one great grandson. We are a complete family in the Lord! |

was born and raised in Concord, Michigan where I attended church as a
child. After high school, I attended
I
have lived in Hickory Grove Community since I was five years old; with
the exception of six years I worked and lived in Union, SC. I grew
up as a part of Hickory Grove Church and gave my life to Christ at the
age of 12.
