West Virgina Backpack Mission

Each year the Hickory Grove Church family participates in the Eastern Baptist Association's West Virginia backpack ministry. This mission effort supports one of the most impoverished areas in the United States by delivering backpacks filled with toys, school supplies, blankets, coats, Bibles and other necessities to children in West Virginia. The backpacks are delivered during the Christmas Season. This year the Hickory Grove family filled over 200 backpacks and several members joined in the drive to West Virginia and were on site while the backpacks were handed out.

Wednesday Night Mission Projects

One Wednesday night of each month is dedicated to a local mission project. Following family supper all ages come together and participate in the mission project.

January: tie fleece quilts and make greeting cards for delivery to local nursing homes

Feburary: Gather Coke bottles and popcorn to thank the teachers in our community!
